New SLASH Album 2012!

Great news, the new Slash album featuring Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators, titled 'Apocolyptic Love' is due out May 22nd. If the last Slash album is anything to go by (my favorite rock album of 2010), this should be another awesome album!

One of my faves from the previous album: 'Crucify the Dead' featuring Ozzy Osbourne.

Matt Corby Acoustic Soul Man

Matt Corby comes into Triple J radio to give the first Australian Like A Version performance of 2012. He starts of with a roaring acoustic version of his track 'Brother' and then slows it down for a cover of The Black Keys' latest song 'Lonely Boy'.

Ain't Nobody - Jon Gomm (Chaka Khan)

Song and guitar tab available only from http://jongomm.com/store

You can Pay What You Want for the song, and a percentage of what you pay goes to STEPS, a charity that supports people with clubfoot, hip dysplasia and other lower limb conditions, in honour of my beautiful niece Freya. http://www.steps-charity.org.uk/

This is my cover of the Chaka Khan dancefloor classic from 1982. When I was a kid, I played gigs in pubs in Blackpool, and often my audience was mostly elderly ladies spending their pension money on bacardi! Quite often they'd tolerate my original songs and blues covers for only so long, and eventually a representative would be sent over to remonstrate with me. "Excuse me young man, please can you play something we can dance to?" So this is my emergency disco song.

OK Go - Needing/Getting - Official Video

The new music video from OK Go, made in partnership with Chevrolet. OK Go set up over 1000 instruments over two miles of desert outside Los Angeles. A Chevy Sonic was outfitted with retractable pneumatic arms designed to play the instruments, and the band recorded this version of Needing/Getting, singing as they played the instrument array with the car. The video took 4 months of preparation and 4 days of shooting and recording. There are no ringers or stand-ins; Damian took stunt driving lessons. Each piano had the lowest octaves tuned to the same note so that they'd play the right note no matter where they were struck. For more information and behind-the-scenes footage, see http://www.LetsDoThis.com and http://www.okgo.net. Many thanks to Chevy for believing in and supporting such an insane and ambitious project, and to Gretsch for providing the guitars and amps.
